2022 Niagara County Democrat of the Year

The 2022 Democrat of the year is Mayor Austin Tylec of North Tonawanda. Mayor Tylec’s hard work and phenomenal campaign propelled him to victory last fall. His commitment to open and transparent government, embracing of new ideas, support for organized labor, addressing the needs of working families, and strengthening our party have made him a clear choice for this year’s honor.

We will also be honoring four other local Democratic leaders for their efforts and commitment to moving Niagara County forward:

• Michelle Roman, Mayor of Lockport, City of Lockport Democratic Committee: “2020 Democrat of the Year”

• Adam Dickey, Ironworkers Local 9 President, North Tonawanda Committee Chair: “Labor Democrat of the Year”

• Mike Lee, Deputy Superintendent of Police & Town of Niagara Committee Member: “First Responder of the Year”

• Lora Allen, Democratic Elections Commissioner & City of Niagara Falls Democratic Committee: “Chairmans Award”

SPECIAL GUEST OF HONOR & KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

Daniel S. Goldman – Former U.S. Attorney Southern District of New York; MSNBC legal analyst serving as Congressional staff in the United States House of Representatives; and served as majority counsel to the House Managers in the first impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump, and former Democratic Candidate for NYS Attorney General this past year.
